Day-wise routine
Day 1 — Phuentsholing arrival
Permit formalities and overnight at the border town.
Day 2 — To Thimphu
Mountain drive to the capital, evening at the Memorial Chorten with circumambulating pilgrims.
Day 3 — Thimphu festival / sightseeing
If your dates match the Thimphu Tshechu, a full festival day at Tendrel Thang; otherwise the complete Thimphu sightseeing circuit.
Day 4 — Dochula to Punakha
Pass-top chortens, then Punakha Dzong and Chimi Lhakhang.
Day 5 — Punakha festival day
Punakha Dromchoe / Tshechu with the dramatic re-enactment of the 17th-century battle and the serdha procession.
Day 6 — Punakha to Paro
Transfer to Paro, afternoon at the National Museum and Rinpung Dzong.
Day 7 — Paro Tshechu or Tiger's Nest
Festival morning at Rinpung Dzong courtyard, or the Taktsang hike if the festival has closed.
Day 8 — Departure
Descend to Phuentsholing and transfer onward.
