Day-wise routine
Day 1 — Arrive Phuentsholing — permit formalities

Day 2 — Phuentsholing to Thimphu (170 km / 6 hrs)
A spectacular climb along the Wangchhu river with photo stops at Kharbandi Gompa and the Chukha viewpoints. Reach Thimphu by afternoon, check in, and walk the only capital in the world without traffic lights — the clock tower square, handicraft emporium and Norzin Lam.

Full morning at the 169-ft Buddha Dordenma, the National Memorial Chorten, the Takin preserve, Changangkha Lhakhang and the Folk Heritage Museum. After lunch drive 55 km to Paro, stopping at Tamchog Lhakhang iron-chain bridge. Evening free along Paro town's willow-lined main street.
Day 4 — Tiger's Nest hike & Paro valley
Early start for the Taktsang Monastery trek — 4 to 6 hours round trip with a cafeteria halt halfway and unforgettable cliff-edge views. Afternoon at Rinpung Dzong, the National Museum (Ta Dzong) and the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong with Mount Jomolhari on the horizon.
Day 5 — Paro to Phuentsholing and departure
Descend to the plains, exit formalities at Phuentsholing and onward transfer to Bagdogra, NJP or Hasimara for your journey home.
